About Theta Alpha |
The brothers of Dallas, Texas, sensing the needs of our community and the race at large saw fit to bind themselves into another loyal chapter of Omega. After many weeks of persistent effort on the part of several loyal brothers, our chapter, Theta Alpha, was organized at the Maria Morgan Branch of the YMCA on Monday night, April 29th. Brother H. P. Carter, our District Representative, came up from Houston, Texas, to set up our chapter. Other chapters in the state were invited to attend our exercises. A number of brothers from our neighbor chapter in Ft. Worth, Texas, came to fraternize with us.
The following brothers were inducted into office:
The repast was one that the brothers will not soon forget. Bro. Jack Thompson was thanked by all for having our menu prepared so splendidly.
Under the able leadership of our invincible Basileus, Bro. Allen, Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. truly made an upward trend in many undertakings in our city. Today, Theta Alpha has nearly 200 brothers on its roster as it continues to grow. The chapter parallels the international organization in that it has brothers representing all areas. Included are educators, doctors, lawyers, business professionals, bankers, ministers, school principals, school board members, state senators, city councilmen, armed forces officers and personnel, corporate leaders and engineers. The brothers of Theta Alpha Chapter continue to be at the forefront of community service and social action in the Dallas Metroplex. Throughout the years, Theta Alpha Chapter has shared the responsibility of leadership in the implementation of the four major National Programs.
