The Ninth District

The Ninth District of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. serves the brotherhood across Arkansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma and Texas. Its origins trace to 1922, when the Eleventh Annual Grand Conclave authorized the office of Vice Grand Basileus and empowered the Grand Basileus to appoint “District Representatives” to supervise chapters and expand Omega across the nation. That extraordinary vision led to the establishment of the numbered districts we know today — including the Ninth.

From 1922 to 1939 the District was guided by appointed Representatives. Beginning with the Second Annual Conference held in Dallas, Texas, in 1939, the Ninth District began electing its own district officers — a tradition of brotherhood, scholarship, and leadership that continues to this day.
