                                                             HISTORY OF THE ZETA ETA CHAPTER

The Zeta Eta Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., was organized and established by the Omicron Upsilon (Graduate) Chapter of Waco, Texas. The Zeta Eta Chapter was chartered on the campus of Paul Quinn College in Waco, Texas on April 5, 1975 with nine initial members. The nine charter members were organized under the supervision of the faculty advisor, Dr. Weldon J. Walton, Professor of Biology at Paul Quinn College.

Since the Chapter was chartered, thirty-four lines of new members have been made, including the Spring of 1975 with nine members, the Fall of 1975 with ten members, the Fall of 1976 with five members, the Spring of 1977 with four members, the Spring of 1981 with seven members, the Fall of 1981 with two members, the Fall of 1982 with five members, the Spring of 1983 with two members, the Spring of 1984 with six members, the Spring of 1985 with four members, the Fall of 1985 with two members, the Spring of 1986 with one member, the Fall of 1986 with four members, the Spring of 1987 with five members, the Fall of 1987 with two members, and the Spring of 1989 (i.e., the eighteenth line and last official line made by the Zeta Eta Chapter prior to the relocation of Paul Quinn College to Dallas) with four members. Since the move of the College to Dallas in the Fall of 1990, sixteen lines have been officially completed as of April 4, 2008, including the Spring of 1991 with three members, Spring of 1992 with five members, the Spring of 1994 with five members, the Fall of 1996 with four members, the Spring of 1998 with two members, the Fall of 1998 with one member, the Fall of 2000 with one member, the Summer of 2000 with one member, the Spring of 2001 with one member, the Spring of 2002 with five members, the Fall of 2002 with four members, the Fall of 2003 with four members, the Fall of 2004 with two members, the Summer of 2006 with one member, and the Spring of 2008 with five members.

Consequently, one hundred-thirty-six Brothers have been officially initiated in the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity through the Zeta Eta Chapter since it was officially chartered.
